First day back at school!

WALT write about the first day back at school. 

Today is my first day back at school. I was very excited to be in the class of Ms Komor in room 9 and to see all my classmates after the holidays. It was great to be reminded of our school work and to get right back into learning. This term I want to learn new and different things :) 

Becoming a student councillor!

Last term I was proudly presented as a student councilor. And when I was chosen I had to say a speech at front of the school. And here is my speech :)

Kia ora my name is Te Harangi Tikitiki and I have been given the opportunity to become a student councillor.

When I was told that I need to redeem my attendance I felt butterflies in my stomach like I didn’t have the chance to become what I am today. But because Ms Aireen and Ms Kelly are awesome they knew something could be worked out.

To be standing here and having the feeling of pride in me makes me feel like I have been given more than just a badge. I have been given a second chance, a responsibility, and an unforgettable memory. I would like to thank Ms Kelly and Ms Aireen For giving me the chance to redeem myself and I would also like to thank all the other teachers for the opportunity I have been given.

Every day we get a second chance to climb to what we strive to be. I strive to be that person that leads people around me to the right path. And now that i’m a leader I will always think twice about my actions. And I know that I can be what I want I just have to run through trees and climb up the tallest trees and finally reach my dreams that will become a reality.

My Personal Goals

WALT set personal goals that I will achieve through a growth mindset. 

Throughout the day we have been doing our maths, writing and personal goals for whanau conference. For my personal goals I chose two subject and those were writing and blogging. For this task we had to write how we will achieve this goal, who will help us and how and then we had to add a quote related to the topic. 

SSR (Rio Olympics)

WALT reserch about a specific place.

Today for SSR (after lunch) we are researching about Rio olympics.

• This year olympics starts on Friday 5 August and ends on Sunday 21 August. 
• The olympics are held in Brazil. 
• There are already 1,600 guest.  

Olympics is where people from different places come together to represent their country in sports. There are all kinds of sports they play in olympics. Sports like golf, rugby, softball, baseball and squash. This year people got the chance to vote for 2 new sports to be added into 2016 olympics. The two sports selected were golf and rugby.     

SSR (Madagascar)

WALT research about a specific place.

When we do SSR we don't just read we also learn and research. Everyday we get given a place to research about. Today we were given the place of Madagascar.

• The capital of Madagascar is Antananarivo.
•  Madagascar is a island of the southeast coast of Africa.
•  There are 54 continents of Africa.
